Chapter 16. Backroom (4)
It was practically a small arena.
People in the gallery had split into different sides and were fighting over all kinds of disciplines—magic, martial arts, mystical arts, psychic abilities, and more.
After reading through their comments, I muttered,
“I can’t learn any of them anyway.”
Both magic and martial arts required some kind of energy as a foundation before they could even be learned.
Of course, maybe one day I would obtain mana or internal energy, but that seemed far off for now.
After realizing that, I had already half given up and was only learning basic martial arts.
Meanwhile, I was the one who had given up and was sitting quietly, yet watching all of them fight among themselves was a little...
Fun.
Just watching their argument seemed to wash away all the exhaustion I had built up from the mart and the Backroom.
I clicked on the next post.
This was one of the new posts that had appeared after I made mine.
[The Archmage’s Opinion on the Backroom]
The title sounded unusually serious for something posted in this gallery.
What was even more surprising was the huge number of recommendations and comments it had received.
[The Archmage’s Opinion on the Backroom]
[Author: MagicFreak]
[First of all, I am an Archmage currently studying spatial magic.
In my opinion, the Backroom is a space that simply should not be able to exist. If the Gallery Master hadn’t attached that video, even I wouldn’t have believed it.
Honestly, even now, part of me wonders whether the Gallery Master might actually be some insanely powerful illusion mage capable of deceiving cultivators above the Incarnation Realm, transcendent Archmages who have reached the pinnacle, and swordsmen who have surpassed the Absolute Realm and entered the Harmony Realm.
The reason I deny its existence is simple.
First, according to Arkellis’s Laws of Space-Time...]

[...and that is why the Backroom should be impossible.
However, the Backroom exists in the Gallery Master’s world.
Because of this, I believe that what we call “Mystery” may be a concept that stands above all other laws.
Perhaps the powers we use are merely concepts derived from it.]
└?
└??
└???
└What the hell is he talking about?
└Not joking, I only understood the first paragraph...
└You stupid martial arts idiots don’t understand a single thing, do you? I feel sorry for you guys for not being able to understand such amazing content, lol.
└Stop trying to start a faction war and just explain it, damn it.
└If you admit that you are a pathetic martial arts idiot, then I shall personally enlighten you.
└Fine.
└I am a pathetic martial arts idiot.
└Happy now?
└?
└Hey?
└???
└Why aren’t you replying?
└Where did this bastard go?
└Did he seriously run away???
└I did what you told me to!
└Answer me!
└HEY, YOU SON OF A BITCH!
└For those who didn’t understand it, the short version is that the Gallery Master’s world is freaking amazing.
└Ah.
└I... understand now!
└So that’s what he meant!
└Wait, that was all he was trying to say? Why did that mage bastard stretch it into such a ridiculously long explanation?
└Truly writing filled with hatred toward martial artists...
└Honestly, even I have to admit the contents are impressive.
└And who are you to approve of it?
└Me? 323 years old, single since birth, living alone.
└323-year-old lifelong virgin, holy crap.
└Then your opinion counts.
└He really was an Archmage...
“What the hell is this...?”
It was an extremely long post, but honestly, I couldn’t understand any of it.
I read it several times and racked my brain, but it still made no sense.
It felt important.
It also felt like understanding it might help me someday.
But no matter how much I read it, I just couldn’t understand.
For now, I gave the post a recommendation and closed the gallery.
I had seen enough of the board.
Maybe I should enjoy some food now.
I leaned against the wall while eating the snacks Lee Yeonhee had brought out as drinking snacks.
“You... hic. Aren’t you drinking anymore?”
“I think I’ll get drunk if I drink any more.”
“Really? Hehe... That’s too bad... Ah. Come to think of it, I still don’t know your name.”
“There was never really a situation where I needed to tell you.”
“You know my name... but I don’t know yours. That’s unfair.”
Lee Yeonhee said that while leaning closer to me.
Even without makeup, her pretty face had a naturally strong charm that immediately caught my attention.
She probably wasn’t wearing perfume either, yet there was strangely an attractive scent coming from her.
Was it a floral scent?
Her naturally sweet scent mixed evenly with the smell of beer.
Maybe I was slightly drunk too, because my heart began beating a little faster.
I didn’t bother trying to calm myself down and simply answered.
“I’m Yuhyeon. Kim Yuhyeon.”
“Kim Yuhyeon... That’s a cool name! Then should I call you Yuhyeon from now on?”
“Sure.”
“Or Oppa? How about Yuhyeon Oppa? Ah, wait. Are you actually older than me? How old are you?”
“Twenty-two.”
“I’m twenty-one! Then you really are my Oppa!”
She spoke in a cheerful voice.
Maybe because she was drunk, her energy had risen dramatically, and she kept talking without stopping.
I responded to her conversation while finishing the rest of my beer in one gulp.
Then I checked the time on my phone.
12:07 a.m.
No wonder I had started feeling sleepy.
A new day had already begun.
I read through How to Spend the Most Perfect Day one more time before taking out my bag.
We had come to the mart to gather food in the first place, so I had prepared a large bag beforehand.
As I sorted out suitable food that we could carry in the bag, Lee Yeonhee began helping me.
She staggered around drunkenly and brought over some canned food.
Then she asked,
“But why are you doing this now?”
“Because tomorrow, we’ll probably have trouble moving because of the hangover.”
“But Yuhyeon only drank a little. You won’t even get a hangover.”
I silently smiled and continued packing.
Actually, I was doing this because the atmosphere was making me uncomfortable.
Ever since my reincarnation, I had never formed a deep relationship with anyone.
So this kind of atmosphere felt unfamiliar.
Still, I would probably get used to it someday.
After finishing packing the bag, I looked over at Lee Yeonhee.
At some point, she had collapsed face-down and fallen asleep.
I also lay down on the floor and closed my eyes.
Just like that, one perfect day came to an end.
Unexpectedly, the break that I thought would take two days ended after only one.
I had drunk so little that I didn't have a hangover in the first place.
Meanwhile, Lee Yeonhee, who had drunk without worrying about tomorrow at all, simply used divine power to get rid of her hangover.
I hadn't known divine power could even do something like that.
Divine power really was impressive.
I could see why people said it was capable of curing the zombie virus.
“Divine power really can do anything.”
