▶ Chapter 4. Kim Suyeon (3)
This isn’t the time to be having weird thoughts like that.
Han Dongju was SS-rank, so his rank was lower than mine, but his level was far higher.
I changed my face and voice, but if I make one wrong move, he might see through it!
Still, simply turning around and leaving would look even more suspicious.
Let’s get this over with quickly!
Without saying a word, I took all seven Random Draw Boxes I had received as rewards out of my inventory and placed them on the table.
Han Dongju pursed his pretty lips and let out a whistle of surprise.
“You’re selling all of these, right?”
I nodded.
“Anonymously?”
Nod.
“According to the rules, I won’t ask where or how you got them. At today’s market price, a Grade 5 box is worth ten million won each. But instead of seventy million for all seven, I’ll give you eighty million. Do you know why?”
Of course, I had no intention of answering.
I had altered my voice, but there was no telling what might happen.
Apparently amused by how wary I was, Han Dongju grinned again.
“Because I want you to contact me whenever you feel like selling something again. Here, I’ll give you my business card.”
Han Dongju slid a stylish business card across the table.
His name, email address, and phone number were written on it.
I didn’t take it.
“I’ll pay you immediately.”
Han Dongju pulled a large box out of his inventory in midair.
It was filled with bundles of fifty-thousand-won bills.
Lady Shin Saimdang!
I felt like my eyes were spinning!
Han Dongju smiled brightly as he took out several bundles and neatly lined them up in front of me.
“There are one hundred bills in each bundle. That makes five million won per bundle. Fourteen bundles comes to seventy million. And here are two more, making a total of eighty million won. Go ahead and check.”
I shook my head to show that I didn’t need to.
The Wish Guild was extremely famous for being absolutely meticulous when it came to payments.
They had never once done anything petty like slipping out one or two bills.
I immediately placed all sixteen bundles of fifty-thousand-won bills into my inventory and sprang to my feet.
I continued to completely ignore the business card.
Han Dongju called out with a huge smile.
“Thank you very much for using the Wish Guild! I hope we meet again!”
My instincts as an office worker almost made me answer his greeting out loud, but I successfully left without saying anything.
After leaving the building, I entered a subway station.
Once the train departed, I used my Search skill.
No one was following me.
Even so, just to be safe, I traveled to a station far from my home and went into the restroom there.
I entered a stall, locked the door tightly, took the money out of my inventory, and examined it with my skill.
There were no skills or tracking devices attached to the money.
Good!!!
Suppressing the urge to raise both arms and cheer on the spot, I quickly got up.
Just in case, I remained vigilant and took a long, roundabout route.
Of course, I used Stealth while doing so.
It took quite a while before I finally reached home.
Then—
I scattered all eighty million won across the floor of my room and swam through it.
There wasn’t actually as much physical volume as I had imagined, so it didn’t exactly feel like money was clinging to my entire body.
Still—
I’m so happy!!!
For a long time, I rolled around on top of the money, enjoying the incredible happiness with my entire body.
Before opening gacha boxes in games, some gamers performed their own little rituals.
Naturally, it was all in hopes of obtaining better items.
After the Gate Era began and things called Random Draw Boxes started appearing as rewards, some Hunters began acting exactly like those gamers.
Han Dongju, who possessed the highest Luck stat in Korea, was one of them.
When another Hunter hired him to open a box for them, he opened it immediately on the spot.
However, he never did that with boxes he personally obtained from Gates or boxes he bought with his own money.
He carefully saved them up.
Then, on the seventh day of every month, after thoroughly washing and purifying himself, he would stand before a ritual table at exactly 7:07:07 a.m., bow twice, and only then begin opening them.
He did it only once a month, but perhaps because of all that devotion(?) his results were usually excellent.
That was why Han Dongju could always wait patiently, no matter how many boxes piled up.
But this time was different.
I want to open them right now.
His fingers were itching.
He had a feeling that something unbelievably good was going to come out.
It was the first time he had ever gotten such a strong feeling from boxes he had purchased.
Is it because the seller wasn’t an ordinary person?
Han Dongju was one of the greatest item craftsmen around and an SS-rank Hunter said to be close to SSS-rank.
Naturally, his ability to sense mana and skills was extraordinarily high.
Thanks to that, he had noticed that the seller was using an extremely sophisticated and powerful transformation skill.
At least S-rank. Maybe even SS-rank.
He didn’t think the person was SSS-rank.
There were no SSS-rank Hunters in Korea to begin with.
And there was no reason one of the handful of SSS-rank Hunters overseas would hide their face and travel all the way to Korea just to sell a few Grade 5 boxes.
There was no S-rank or higher Hunter in Korea whom the Wish Guild did not know about.
Which meant the seller was probably a foreigner using an interpretation skill or an item.
An overseas S-rank or higher Hunter secretly entered Korea while hiding their identity?
