Chapter 9
Elisha’s elegant fanning abruptly stopped.
“What…? Y-You… how dare you!”
“And you’re already pretty enough as you are.”
“P-Pretty…!”
She sucked in a sharp breath and glared at Sohee.
The sudden compliment about her appearance caught her so off guard that she temporarily lost her words.
“T-That isn’t important. What matters is that I become the real Saintess.”
But Sohee continued speaking with an analytical expression, without the slightest change on her face.
“No. I’m saying this because I think regression or reincarnation would suit you better than possession.”
“What?”
“That Saintess didn’t do anything wrong. She was born as the real Saintess and merely reclaimed the place that belonged to her.”
Sohee calmly continued.
“So there isn’t enough justification for stealing her life. Honestly, that Saintess is innocent, isn’t she?”
“I have every right to steal her life!”
Perhaps because Elisha Brown was so thin, her body swayed slightly every time she shouted.
“She stole what was originally mine! My life! The moment that woman appeared, she took everything that belonged to me!”
“No. It would be more accurate to say everything returned to its original owner. The person occupying something that wasn’t actually hers was you, Elisha—”
“Shut up!”
Elisha glared at Sohee, her thin fists trembling violently.
She was not intimidating in the slightest.
Still, one thing was obvious.
This consultation was going to take a long time.
Sohee could already feel her exhaustion rising.
Even so, a customer was still a customer.
The motel’s finances—and Sohee’s own return home—would only get closer if she successfully sent even one more person through reincarnation, regression, or transmigration.
Thinking about the still mostly empty gourd, Sohee forced a smile onto her face.
“Elisha, rather than possession, I recommend either ending this with regression or preparing for reincarnation instead.”
She spoke gently but firmly.
“You could prepare revenge against the people who manipulated you and framed you, or simply cut ties with all of them and live independently.”
“I want the precious things that woman received….”
“I’m telling you this as a professional.”
Elisha suddenly looked at Sohee.
The name tag pinned to her chest clearly identified her as the head manager of the Reincarnation, Regression, and Transmigration Motel.
“Why would you go through reincarnation, regression, or transmigration under such ridiculous conditions? If it were me, I’d just disappear instead. And who knows? Maybe in your next life—or the one after that—you really will be born as a Saintess.”
A woman who had entered Wicheon around the same time as Elisha had once told her that.
Of course, Elisha knew that too.
As an important supporting character and villainess, she would probably become a protagonist in another novel someday.
But he won’t be there.
Elisha fiddled with the only blue diamond ring she possessed.
It was the first and last token Cedric had given her at their engagement ceremony.
If she could return to him, she was willing to offer even this as payment.
She would return no matter what.
And this time, she would receive Cedric’s love entirely for herself.
By entering the body of the real Saintess even though she herself was fake.
Elisha turned her head away with renewed haughtiness.
“I know my own life better than you do. Make it possession.”
Sohee carefully lifted the corners of her trembling lips.
Unfortunately, she had absolutely no control over the vein bulging on her forehead.
Today was going to be very long.
Sohee ate a hearty dinner before returning to the consultation room for round two.
No one in this place actually became hungry even if they did not eat.
But when it came to relieving stress, nothing beat food.
And Elisha was probably the same.
“Have some.”
A cup of tea that Kuku had painstakingly prepared was placed on the table.
It was milk tea made with smooth milk and strong black tea, accompanied by crisp baked biscuits.
They were the foods Elisha had loved most while alive.
Elisha, who had been desperately craving that tea, could not completely hide the delight on her face.
Though she quickly tried to conceal it.
After taking a sip, she unconsciously let out a deep breath.
The warmth seemed to slowly melt not only her body but something knotted tightly inside her as well.
That was when Sohee spoke.
“You’re already this beautiful. Why do you want to possess someone else?”
Elisha, who had been preparing to argue more forcefully in the second round, froze.
She scoffed as though the comment was ridiculous.
But despite herself, she was pleased.
Hmph. She’s mocking me, isn’t she?
At first, this woman had been rude enough not to even pull out her chair.
And now she kept praising her beauty.
Elisha tried to harden her expression as though she were angry.
Unfortunately, she could not stop the faint blush creeping onto her cheeks whenever her appearance was praised.
“That’s why you should choose regression or reincarnation.”
Sohee continued.
“You were born beautiful, so maybe you don’t realize how important that is, but this really is one of the greatest blessings you could have.”
“Possession.”
“I’m telling you that you don’t have enough justification.”
“Possession. Do it that way.”
This possession-obsessed woman….
Sohee barely managed to unclench her tightening fist and set her pen down.
“To be completely honest, possession… yes. If we wanted to attempt it, we could.”
Elisha looked at her with immediate interest.
But Sohee answered firmly.
“But I won’t do it.”
Her expression hardened.
“Absolutely not.”
“…Are you playing with me?”
“Listen carefully to what I’m about to explain.”
Sohee picked up her pen and roughly wrote Elisha’s name and the Saintess’s name on a blank sheet of paper.
“The real Saintess is still alive right now, correct?”
“Obviously.”
“What do you think happens if we attempt possession on someone who is still alive?”
Sohee tapped the paper.
“Her soul would also have to leave her body. It would need somewhere else to go.”
“…So?”
