Chapter 44
Daeho focused his eyes on Kang Jinsu.
‘Interesting guy.’
It was the feeling he had sensed from the very first day during emergency care.
He had loyalty.
Especially when it came to patients, his emotions were exceptionally strong.
That was a tremendous advantage as a doctor.
“Hmm.”
Daeho let out a low sigh, as if frustrated.
Yet his gaze toward Kang Jinsu was gentle.
Having understood Kang Jinsu, Daeho gently held his shoulder.
Slip.
“Alright, it’s fine now. Get up.”
“Huh? How… Is it because of the anti-seizure medicine?”
“No, step aside for a moment.”
Whoosh.
Daeho lightly pushed Kang Jinsu.
It wasn’t the force but Daeho’s presence that pressed Kang Jinsu, making him rise from the patient.
Yet his face watching the patient was still puzzled.
“What’s going on…”
Drip, drip.
Before he could finish, the red blood soaked his gown and trickled down.
Beside the removed surgical drape, the handle of the hemostatic forceps peeked out.
“Hup!”
Kang Jinsu inhaled sharply, realizing the bleeding had returned.
But Daeho’s reaction was surprisingly cold.
Clack, clack.
“Hmm.”
Daeho used the stethoscope to directly listen to the patient’s heartbeat.
Then, he sequentially examined with a flashlight and other methods.
That process didn’t take a short time.
Drip, drip.
The patient’s split wound began bleeding again.
Seeing that, Park Jinkyu and Kang Jinsu shouted at the same time.
“Richard!”
“Senior, bleeding!”
Still, Daeho moved with smooth, calm precision.
“Mm, mm. Alright.”
He moved his hands inside the wound a few times and retrieved the hemostatic forceps completely.
His actions now were completely opposite from the emergency care earlier.
The two watching were at a loss.
“What the…”
“What is this…”
They were so shocked that words wouldn’t come out.
At that moment, Daeho picked up a needle holder and sutures with both hands from the medical cart.
Rustle, rustle.
He raised both hands so the patient could see.
Then, in a calm and confident voice, he said:
“Emergency suturing will begin.”
He bowed slightly, as if acknowledging the patient’s awareness.
Then, his hands slowly started moving.
Swish, swish.
Something amazing happened.
The rhythm of Daeho’s hands sewing stitch by stitch felt like playing music.
In short?
It was elegant.
Not an intentional display of elegance.
Swish, swish.
His hands moved between the wound and the air with softness yet firmness.
The speed was neither fast nor slow.
Stitch by stitch, each action carried care and seriousness.
Park Jinkyu and Kang Jinsu watched, mesmerized.
They even forgot Daeho’s earlier indifference.
“Ah… beautiful.”
“Feels like an Italian artisan. Wow.”
Then Park Jinkyu flinched and shook his head quickly.
“Wait, this isn’t it!”
“Yes, that’s right.”
Kang Jinsu snapped back from his trance.
Park Jinkyu turned sharply toward Kang Jinsu.
“You! What did you do?!”
“I didn’t do anything. I was just keeping watch.”
“Keeping watch, and yet the patient had a seizure. Tell the truth!”
“I really didn’t! I swear!”
Kang Jinsu’s voice trembled.
But Park Jinkyu didn’t believe him.
“You… I warned you not to mess around with patients…”
At that moment, Daeho’s eyes, while quietly suturing, fell sharply.
“Stop.”
A low word.
Yet it immediately calmed the tense air in the E Zone.
Boom.
Park Jinkyu felt a chill down his spine.
“Huff.”
Swish, swish.
Daeho continued the suturing, steady and graceful.
Park Jinkyu’s eyes followed him, frustrated at his unwavering focus.
Thud!
He stomped behind Daeho, growling.
“What the hell are you?!”
“I’m suturing.”
Swish, swish.
Daeho answered while carefully stitching.
Park Jinkyu felt suffocated.
“What’s happening all of a sudden?”
“Shh.”
“Shh my foot!”
“Stop. We’re not alone here.”
Each word from Daeho carried immense weight.
Finally, Park Jinkyu hesitated.
‘If I interfere now…’
That would be unqualified as a doctor.
Curiosity or confusion had to wait.
The patient always came first.
Daeho was demonstrating that with his actions.
Park Jinkyu didn’t want to compare—but he couldn’t help it.
He sighed quietly.
“Ugh.”
